I believe it's better to do one thing and do it well.  I'm a superb realtime writer, and I'm quite content working under the cover of some of the finest reporting firms here in the Washington, DC market and across the nation.

I have solid relationships with many fine firms here in Washington, DC and nationwide providing their clients the highest quality realtime ... Real Realtime.

Some court reporters gladly accept work from both reporting firms and directly from attorneys.  I'm different.  After 20+ years in Richmond, Virginia,  I moved to Washington, DC and made the decision to offer my realtime expertise to court reporting firms only.  I never solicit work from attorneys.

Some say there's a serious reporter shortage.  I disagree.  I believe we suffer from a serious QUALITY shortage.  The market has been flooded by reporting firms claiming to offer premium services like realtime, but without standards.  For plain vanilla reporting, that's just fine.   But realtime is different.  Realtime is a specialty.   If you don't choose wisely, it's easy to lose a good client to bad realtime.

There is only a shortage of quality.
